Quick Details Specifications

 

The boiler economizer is a must-have component for coal-fired boilers. It’s installed in the boiler’s flue, where it captures heat from flue gas to either preheat cold inlet water or warm the boiler’s feedwater.

 

As an eco-friendly piece of equipment, an economizer is essentially a heat exchanger. It uses the temperature difference between two media inside the unit to enable secondary heat utilization. Since most boilers in industry run on gas, the heat exchangers used here are often gas-gas or air heat exchangers. These are typically mounted in the boiler’s tail flue to directly recover waste heat from exhaust gas.

 

Flue gas economizers come with many benefits: they transfer heat from flue gas to a lower-temperature medium, which lowers exhaust temperature and cuts down on heat loss from smoke. Some manufacturers reuse high-temperature flue gas waste heat with air heat exchangers—the recovered air can act as an air preheater, helping reduce coal fuel consumption.

 

Our economizers are usually made from 20-grade low-to-medium pressure boiler tubes, 20G seamless steel tubes, or ASME-standard steel tubes. They lower flue gas temperature and maximize heat recovery, helping customers cut fuel costs. After feedwater is heated by the economizer, its temperature rises before entering the steam drum. This reduces thermal stress caused by the temperature gap between the steam drum wall and the feedwater—and in turn, lessens shrinkage and swelling in the steam drum. What’s more, our economizer is a high-quality, more affordable alternative to high-temperature boiler water wall tubing, which helps lower manufacturing costs for coal-fired boilers.

Economizers must be sized for the volume of flue gas, its temperature, the maximum pressure drop allowed through the stack, what kind of fuel is used in the boiler, and how much energy needs to be recovered. Economizers designed for natural gas only, would likely plug-up if installed on a coal boiler and would face increased risk of corrosion if installed on an oil-fired boiler. Some units are designed to keep the flue gases above condensation temperature, and others are made of materials that resist the corrosive effect of condensed flue gases.

1.Subcooling may also be produced by superheating the gas leaving the evaporator and heading to the gas compressor.

2.These systems withdraw heat from the liquid line but heat up the gas compressors suction.

3.This is a very common solution to insure that gas reaches the compressor and liquid reaches the valve.

4.It also allows maximum heat exchanger use as minimizes the portion of the heat exchangers used to change the temperature of the fluid,and maximizeds the volume in which the refrigerant changes its phase.
